The Dixie High School Future Business Leaders of America
received numerous state awards at the 2016 South Carolina FBLA Leadership
Conference held at the Charleston Convention Center, March 11-13. Dixie High School was one of many high
schools and career centers from across the state of South Carolina participating
in this year’s conference.
Winners of state competitions were as follows: Agribusiness – 1st Addie Little; Intro to Financial Math – 2nd Kathryn Ware; Business Ethics – 2nd Haleigh Phillips and Sara Beth Sears; Intro to Business Procedures – 1st Elizabeth Ashley, 3rd Morcedees Hyman; Business Communications – 3rd Marissa Hines; Personal Finance – 2nd Austin Spencer; Management Decision Making – 1st Austin Phillips and Christian Rudmann; Hospitality Management – 1st Fenn Williamson and Austin Wilson. These students have qualified to compete at Nationals in Atlanta, GA this summer. FBLA is the largest and oldest business career student
organization in the world. The South
Carolina FBLA, which has over 3,300 members, is affiliated with the National
FBLA which has more than a quarter of a million members in all 50 states,
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Beverly Spivey and Brian Milford serve as
