Awaiting the Total Solar Eclipse at Westwood Elementary Westwood students from Amanda Brown’s art class are incorporating STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) topics in their weekly lessons. The total solar eclipse was first on the list of art/science projects with a salt painting replica of an eclipse. A few students were chosen at the end of last week to win a pair of eclipse viewing glasses from Roper Mountain Science Center and a “Sunny D” juice box or a “Sunshine” dried fruit mix. Pictured are fourth graders Mi’Darius Burton (Mr. Whitmire’s homeroom), Ja’Niah Patterson (Mrs. Hughes’s homeroom), and fifth grader Micayla Rodgers (Mrs. Williams’s homeroom).Photo 1: LtoR: Fourth graders Mi’Darius Burton (Whitmire’s homeroom) and Ja’Niah Patterson (Hughes’s homeroom) Photo 2: Fifth grader Micayla Rodgers (Williams’s homeroom) |
